As promised, here is a first movie of the lattice aluminum structure subjected to one-point impact (not to be confused with direct impact), at a velocity of the order of 35 m/s. A notch is machined on the right side to ensure mode I loading. The trusses that break sequentially are circled in red and the framing rate is 1 million fps, which explains that this is just the onset of fracture, as other struts break later, beyond the duration of the movie (total 180 frames using our Kirana ultra high speed camera, Specialised Imaging Limited).
