Congratulations to Oren Rijensky for his accepted paper in Int. J. Impact Engineering, ‘’ Polyurea coated aluminum plates under hydrodynamic loading: Does side matter?’’

Congratulations to Oren Rijensky who passed his doctoral candidacy exam. Best wishes of future success!

Today, we went for a sea trial of a new concept of vessel, joint collaboration between Prof. N. Drimer (designer), B. Danino (Sela - Industries, constructor) and the Materials Mechanics Center, together with Oren Rijensky, graduate student (DFL). Our contribution was the investigation of wave-slamming on polymer coated aluminum alloy plates, to determine the resistance of those structural elements to hydrodynamic impacts. It is extremely rewarding to see a concept that materializes and a vessel that does not disintegrate when you reach 32 knots.....Technion-Mech. Eng.: We know to think out of the box!
